Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway

Welcome to "God's Country"

Enchanted Circle Gateway Museum & Visitor Center is a non-profit 501(c)3

located in North Central New Mexico on Highway 64.  Coming from the east it is a gateway to The Village of Eagle Nest which is located on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway.

Enchanted Circle Gateway Museum &  Visitor Center is located immediately North of Eagle Nest Lake on Highway 64.  We have a clear view of Eagle Nest Lake which is perfect for viewing fireworks over the lake. Check out the Museum’s tailgate party held every 4th of July under "Events".

Eagle Nest Dam

Eagle Nest Dam

Construction of the dam began in 1916, continued until 1918, and was considered the largest privately built dam in the United States. The dam was constructed by laborers from the nearby Taos Pueblo, contains no reinforcing steel, and sits between two granite walls. The resulting lake is known as Eagle Nest Lake.
