EVENT ASSIGNMENT/NUMBERS

· Issued at Eagle Nest Lake State Park Office by volunteer staff

WATERCRAFT STAGING AREA

· Staging Area at North Boat Ramp – All Watercraft (see map)

SAFETY

1. All participants MUST SIGN WAIVERS OF LIABILITY, parents for those under age of 18

2. All participants must wear the appropriate PFD (Personal Flotation Device)

3. All participants must have a 15'-20' line attached to the bow of the watercraft

4. All participants must have an emergency whistle

5. All participants must comply with any additional safety equipment as may be required

by US Coast Guard Regulations and/or New Mexico State

6. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will be requested on standby.


VOLUNTEERS/STAFFING –

ALL ACTIVITIES/WORK WILL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH NMSP REGULATIONS & DIRECTION

Volunteers will handle staging, registration, logistics per NMSP regulations & direction.

Buoys will be placed prior to and removed after the event per NMSP regulations & direction.

JUNE 23rd RECREATIONAL SCHEDULE

8:00 - 8:30AM Stage all watercraft at north boat ramp to adjacent (north side) Park Visitor Center.

Assemble on patio at rear of Park Visitor Center for instruction

8:30AM Start of ranger-led wildlife and dam recreational paddle. Note participants will be of differing skill levels. At any point in the recreational paddle, paddlers may return to the north boat ramp.

• DO NOT OVER EXERT, ERR ON THE SIDE OF CAUTION.

• EAGLE NEST LAKE IS SUBJECT TO UNPREDICTABLE HIGH WINDS.

• ALL ACTIVITIES MAY BE SUSPENDED IN EVENT OF HIGH WINDS.

Note: Depending on number of race participants, races may be further classified. Recreational activities and displays by Game & Fish, USGS, State Parks will be requested and coordinated with Park Superintendent.
